✈️ From NAIA to Fiumicino: The Great Pinay Migration!

Hi Besh…I would love to know where my visitors are reading me from. Can you please write in Comments where you are coming from? You can also leave your emails for my weekly posts Thanks. I really would love this. God bless you Kabayan!

“Hoy besh, this is it pancit!” 🎉 Our kabayan Maria is finally leaving Manila International Airport a.k.a. NAIA (a.k.a. Never Arrive Inna Airport daw sabi ng mga chismosa 🤭).

Step 1: The NAIA Olympics 🏃‍♀️💨

Maria arrives with 3 maletas, 2 balikbayan boxes, at isang supot ng Jollibee Chickenjoy (for take-off fuel). Sa dami ng dala, parang siya na ang nag-declare ng Martial Law sa baggage carousel.

At syempre, andyan ang mga hurdles:

  • Immigration Officer: “Purpose of travel?”
  • Maria: “To work po… at para makabili ng Louis Vuitton—on sale dapat!” 😂
  • Luggage scale: “Overweight ka, ate.”
  • Maria: deep inhale “Kung overweight ako, kasalanan ng Mang Inasal unli-rice, hindi ako!”

Gold medal agad si ate sa drama!

Step 2: Flight Survival ✈️🍜

On the plane, Maria flips through the inflight menu: €15 for instant noodles.
“OMG! Sa Divisoria, ₱15 lang ‘to!” she cries, habang naglabas ng Skyflakes at 3-in-1 coffee sachet from her bag.

Bonus round: Seatmate is a kabayan na may dalang bagoong. Whole cabin now smells like authentic Pinoy experience.

Step 3: Touchdown Rome – Fiumicino Airport 🇮🇹

Finally, touchdown Italy! Maria expects to hear Italians saying “Ciao bella!” but instead, the first words she hears:
“Hoy kabayan, dito ang WiFi password, ₱20 per hour.”

Pinoy din pala ang una niyang nakausap. No escape talaga. 😂

Step 4: The Italian Dream 🍝🇮🇹

Maria steps outside and sees gelato, pasta, and vespas zooming everywhere. Pero deep inside, she’s thinking:
“Pwede kayang magtinda ng turon dito?”

Her mission: Work hard, send remittances, buy pasalubong for the whole barangay, at syempre mag-selfie sa Colosseum captioned:
“Simple girl lang po. Hindi po ako mayaman, turista lang. #Blessed”

👉 And so begins Maria’s Italian adventure: half trabaho, half tsismis, full kabayan spirit. Because wherever a Pinay lands—may adobo, karaoke, at kapitbahay na chismosa for survival. 💪😂
